In the cartoon they would have her defrost in small ways like this, and yes, it was always nice to see.
Even someone like Raven needs to be close to other people once in a while, its a basic human need.
Makes some of the fan fiction and pictures so out of character when she displays a strong emotion for more than a flash because she always retained too strong of control for anything more than a restrained emotional response (a small smile, a small laugh), and any strong emotional display was immediately clamped down - usually with a very embarrassed look. Anger was the only thing that typically got out for more than a second (not surprising, all things considered), and of course was the one emotion she really feared letting out.
At the same time, it does make Happy (pink) Raven or Crude (orange) Raven that much more entertaining to see because Raven is normally so in control.
