Torn Apart, Drawn Together

Wishing only love,
Yet granted only pain.
Burdened Memories of guilt,
With no one else to blame.

Giving only trust,
But finding only lies.
Hearts flooded with sarrow,
And tear filled eyes.

Understanding of their pasts,
And so much they've had to overcome.
Seemingly the more they're torn apart,
The more drawn together they become.

Being so very different,
Yet so much alike.
Make you believe in hope,
That the future looks bright.

Another work done using screenshots. I had to make one using some of the screencaps from "Spellbound" sooner or later. I mean, how could I resist? That's the episode where they hug! It dawned on me that Raven and BeastBoy have a lot in common. To name a few, they both have had pasts they don't wish to remember, they've both experienced tragedy involving their parents (in Raven's case, primarily her mother), and They both have something inside of them they don't want to let out (Raven's father and BeastBoy's ferral side). These are just a few. But I think the most recent thing they've had in common is heartbreak. BeastBoy and Terra, and Raven and Malchior. These relationships made both of them feel hurt and betrayed. And for this reason, along with numerous others, that I think they'd find comfort in one another. And I can never pass up the chance to do a little poetry when inspiration presents itself.
