Even though I myself am not a vegetarian, I just got a kick outta doin' this one.
Three weeks ago, I was chatting with  , and she was talking about old school (banned) cartoons from the WWII era she was watching on YouTube. I started watching as well, and one of the cartoons featured one of my fav classic characters, Popeye, delivering a boat load of spinach to Britain.As soon as I heard the trumpet theme to when Popeye opens his can of spinach, this popped into my head. And as someone who draws BB frequently, I think it's good every once and a while to pay homage to his vegetarian roots in the show. I tried to use the thicker outline used in most of Popeye's cartoons, and used the black outfit instead of the white sailor suit just on a whim. The only really signifigant detail I didn't include was the massive forearms, which I know are key details to Popeye's appearence, but again, just wanted to try something different to balance between BB and Popeye. |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on.
